The northern shore, from above.

Most sauna on Carlingford Lough happens at the water's edge, which means tide times, pop-up dates and a lot of checking the forecast. We sit above the Lough at Rostrevor Mountain Lodge instead — a permanent site with a wood-fired cabin, hot tubs and a spring-fed plunge pool that runs to the same schedule every week.

Book any day, any tide

A fixed site and a spring-fed plunge mean your slot is your slot. No tide tables, no pop-up dates to catch.

Sauna, hot tub and plunge

All three in one 60-minute session, not separate add-ons. Cycle between them as many times as you like.

Somewhere to sit after

A coffee and mocktail bar on site, plus Kilbroney Forest Park and Rostrevor village minutes down the hill.

Questions, answered.

Where exactly on Carlingford Lough are you?
On the northern shore, above Rostrevor in Co. Down — Rostrevor Mountain Lodge, Lower Knockbarragh Road. You're in the trees looking down over the Lough with the Mournes behind you.
Is this a sea sauna?
No. We're set above the Lough with a natural spring water plunge pool fed off the mountain, plus wood-fired sauna and hot tubs. That means we run to a fixed schedule rather than around the tides.
Do sessions depend on the tide or weather?
Not at all. Because the plunge is a spring-fed pool rather than the Lough itself, sessions run as booked whatever the tide or weather is doing.
How long is a session and what does it cost?
60 minutes from £18 per person, including the wood-fired sauna, hot tubs and the natural spring plunge pool.
Can we book the whole place for a group?
Yes — we do private hire of the lodge, barn, sauna, hot tub and plunge for sports teams, companies, stags and hens. Prices depend on group size and what you want included.
