Why Belfast folk make the drive.

Real wood-fired heat

Not an electric box in a leisure centre. A wood-burning stove, cedar-lined cabin and the smell of the fire — the way sauna is meant to work.

Natural spring cold plunge

Spring water straight off the mountain, not chilled tap water. The contrast between the two is the entire point of the session.

Knockbarragh Valley views

You're up in the trees above Rostrevor with the Mournes on one side and Carlingford Lough on the other. Worth the hour on its own.

Plenty of people pair it with a walk in Kilbroney Forest Park or lunch in Rostrevor and make an afternoon of it. If you're coming as a group, we also do private hire for teams and companies.

Questions, answered.

How far is Revive Saunas from Belfast?
Roughly an hour by car. Take the A1 south towards Newry, then follow the coast road through Warrenpoint to Rostrevor. We're at Rostrevor Mountain Lodge on Lower Knockbarragh Road.
Is there an outdoor sauna closer to Belfast city centre?
There are indoor sauna and gym facilities in the city, but if you want a wood-fired outdoor sauna with a natural spring cold plunge and mountain views, the drive south is what makes it worth it.
What do I need to bring?
Swimwear, a towel and flip-flops. Changing space, hot water and somewhere dry for your things are all on site, and parking is free.
How much is a session?
Shared sauna sessions start at £18 per person for 60 minutes, which includes the wood-fired sauna, hot tubs and the natural spring plunge pool.
Do I need sauna experience?
No. Most first-timers do 10–15 minutes in the sauna, a short cold plunge of 30–60 seconds, then rest — repeated two or three times within the hour. Nobody is timing you.
