- 01
Arrive and get changed
Free parking at the cabins. Bring swimwear, a towel and flip-flops — changing space and somewhere dry for your things is on site.
- 02
Round one: 10–15 minutes of heat
Settle into the wood-fired cabin. Lower bench if you want it gentler. When you're ready — not before — step out.
- 03
The cold bit: 30–60 seconds
Natural spring plunge, hot tubs to warm back up, or just the mountain air. The hot-cold contrast is where the buzz comes from.
- 04
Rest, repeat, float home
Two or three rounds inside the hour, with views over Carlingford Lough between them. Most people sleep brilliantly that night.
Six things that make your first visit better.
- Eat light beforehand — a big meal and 85°C don't mix.
- Hydrate before you arrive and keep water nearby between rounds.
- Take jewellery off — metal heats up fast in the cabin.
- Leave your phone in the dry box. The hour goes better without it.
- Don't force the plunge. Even 10 seconds counts on your first go.
- Skip alcohol before the session — after is up to you.
Coming with friends, a team or a work group? Group days and private hire are a great way to try it for the first time together.
First-timer questions, answered.
- Do I need any sauna experience?
- None at all. Most first-timers do 10–15 minutes in the heat, 30–60 seconds in the plunge, then rest — two or three rounds inside the hour. You set your own pace and can step out whenever you like.
- What should I bring?
- Swimwear, a towel and flip-flops. There's changing space, hot water and somewhere dry to leave your things on site. Bring a water bottle too — you'll want it between rounds.
- Do I have to do the cold plunge?
- No. It's there if you want it, and most people surprise themselves — but you can cool off with the outdoor shower or just sit in the fresh air instead.
- How hot is the sauna?
- A wood-fired stove heats the cedar cabin to around 80–90°C. You control the intensity by where you sit — higher benches are hotter. Pour water on the stones for a wave of steam whenever you fancy.
- Is a shared session awkward for first-timers?
- Not at all. Sessions are small and friendly, and half the people there are usually first-timers too. If you'd rather have the place to yourselves, private hire is available.
- How much does a first session cost?
- Shared sessions start at £18 per person for 60 minutes, including the wood-fired sauna, hot tubs and the natural spring plunge pool.
